A highlight for me was her heart breaking rendition of “Summertime“, something I will remember for a very long time. 

Ms. Ewing brought an honest and surprising interpretation to the verse of “But Not for Me” (she clearly loved lyrics) with a lovely bit of snarkiness before the pathos of the chorus.

It was such a joyous show, and I loved all the new takes on the classic songs, really made them fresh. and new again!

Gershwin never gets old but the new Brazilian samba  songs are so fun to revisit.  If only there were more than one note in that song… now what was it called?…
